Project Overview

During summer 2024, I led a digital sales transformation project for a local consignment boutique that wanted to expand beyond in-store traffic and tap into new online markets for its luxury designer inventory, including brands like Prada, Gucci, Coach, and Armani. The business had very few online sales and no consistent digital process, so my goal was to create an end-to-end e-commerce system that could sustainably grow revenue and streamline operations.

I began by auditing and organizing the store’s entire inventory, then built a centralized database in Microsoft Excel to track all online listings, pricing history, and sales performance across multiple e-commerce platforms, including Depop, eBay, and Instagram Shop. This became the foundation for all digital activity, ensuring every item was logged, searchable, and easily updated by staff.

Once the operational framework was in place, I developed a comprehensive online sales strategy focused on visibility and engagement. I optimized product listings using SEO best practices, keyword tagging, and metadata-rich descriptions tailored to each platform’s algorithm. I ran A/B tests on product photography, descriptions, and pricing formats to identify which combinations drove the most clicks and conversions.

To further grow brand reach, I used Instagram Insights and Depop analytics to inform posting schedules and highlight high-performing categories. I also conducted competitive pricing research to ensure our listings remained attractive in a crowded resale market.

Beyond sales execution, I trained the boutique’s team on how to manage online listings, fulfill orders, and communicate with buyers, creating a digital operations guide to standardize these processes for future staff.

By the end of the three-month project, online sales had increased fivefold, and the boutique established a sustainable digital sales infrastructure that continued generating revenue beyond the initial pilot phase.
